Trip Overview
The trek begins at the base of Annapurna mountain range in Phedi. The trail from Phedi to Mardi Base Camp snakes through villages, forests, and of course, mountain passages. At every twist and turn in the trail a breath taking view, a beautiful monastery, or an enchanting village awaits. At Mardi Base Camp, trekkers can expect to see beautiful views of Machhapuchhre and surrounding mountains. On the way back from Mardi Base Camp, a soothing hot spring rests just off the trail in Jhinu. After a little rest and relaxation, the trek continues to Nayapul and then back to Phedi.
Unlike many other treks, the Mardi Base Camp trek requires tent camping instead of relying on guest and tea houses. This is perfect for trekkers who desire peace and less traffic. Villages become more remote and sparse as the trek advances to High Camp. The style and experience of the Mardi Base Camp trek will definitely be a feather in any trekker’s hat.
