Description
Trip Overview
Karnali is the mightiest river in far-west Nepal. You will be treated to views of magnificent gorges, tropical jungles, deserted beaches, rural farm villages and of course all the thrills of the white water rapids on the big bend of Karnali.
This is one of the world’s best rafting vacations in the western region of Nepal. Karnali receives its water from the iconic Mt Kailash in Tibet and offers incredible Class IV and V rapids in early October. You’ll be treated to spectacular scenery and beaches and have the opportunity to see unique and fascinating wildlife from mugger crocodiles to leopards. The trip can be extended with a trip to Bardia National Park where you may even see the elusive tiger.
On this trip you’ll spend your days running fantastic whitewater, exploring hidden waterfalls and villages and your evenings (and layover day) relaxing on expansive sandy beaches in the midst of jungle clad hillsides. On the lower reaches we often see some spectacular birds and wildlife. The Karnali feels like a “real journey” and despite not being as well known as the Sun Kosi, the river delivers excellent culture, rapids and a wonderful Nepali experience
- Experience epic whitewater rapids
- See gorgeous remote and pristine landscapes
