Trip Overview
The Bumthang Trek and Cultural Tour provides enjoyable experiences sightseeing in Bhutan’s cities and townships along with trekking in the countries heartland, Bumthang. The sightseeing tour begins in Paro with visits to amazing fortresses and the oldest temple in the country, Kichu temple. While still in Paro, the tour goes on a day hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery and visits monuments, the Memorial Chorten Stupa, a nunnery temple, a traditional art school, and many other landmarks. The tour then makes a stop in Punakha to visit the Punakha fortress and a textile waving factory. Next, the Trek begins in Bumthang. For three days the trek continues across the rugged landscape to capture amazing views of the Himalayas. The trek transverses through high mountain passes, deeply-forested valleys, antiquated villages and small townships. At the end of the trek, the city tour continues as the tour moves back to Paro for its conclusion.
